Lenten Book Study: Those who ordered 3:16 by Max Lucado for the Lenten Book Study may pick them up today in the Narthex. Our first meeting will be this Wednesday, March 10, at 7:00 p.m. in the New Parish House. We will discuss the first 4 chapters.
Take a “Walk Through the Old Testament” ; On March 12 and 13, First Parish Church will host “Walk Through the Old Testament,” the entertaining interactive learning program presented by the Walk Through the Bible Ministries. This seminar helps people absorb – and remember – the key characters, geography and major themes of the entire Old Testament. Floors are turned into maps, the characters come alive and the stories are presented in just six enjoyable hours - from 7 - 9 p.m. on Friday evening and 9 a.m.- 1 p.m. p.m. on Saturday. It’s a unique opportunity to master a survey of the Old Testament, even for those with very little prior Bible knowledge. Everyone is welcome; feel free to invite friends and neighbors. The cost is $20. per person, which includes the accompanying book that is yours to keep. Childcare will be available. To register or for more information, please contact the Church Office at 363-3758, or fill in and mail the registration form you’ll find on the Church website – www.firstparishyork.org. Since books must be ordered ahead of time, advance registration is very important – the sooner the better. s/Jim Carter
Youth Mission Trip Auction: We are down to crunch time and need all gifts, contributions and donations turned in by next Sunday. You may put your service auction donation form in the offering plate, see me at coffee hour or call me at home, 363-4711. I have t-shirts that I will be selling at coffee hour. Special orders will be available for Easter. Thank you so much for your continued support. s/Dick Lalley
AMIGOS: It's bucket time again. Soon we will have buckets to fill for the AMIGOS program. AMIGOS stands for American Mission in Grace Offering Sustenance. Every year we fill buckets with food for school children in Honduras. One bucket of food will feed one child for 30 days. The food is used in schools as lunch. By providing kids with school lunch more children attend school each day. The cost of the bucket is $10 which pays for shipping to Honduras. The cost to fill the bucket is around $50.00. I can fill a bucket for you for $60.00 if you prefer. s/Nancy Eaton
Skilled painter wanted!! The Fellowship Hall Committee is set to put the Pilgrim Room painting project out to bid, and our strong preference would be to award the work to a church member. Yvonne Steffenberg, an active member of the church and an interior designer, generously donated several hours of her time to put forth a wide range of options for our "new" space. We decided on three colors - a rather deep color for the trim and wainscoting, a shade or two lighter for the walls, and another shade or two lighter for the ceiling. I know a number of painters who are good with one color, but we are looking for someone who can do a professional-grade job with three colors (after priming of course). If
you are interested in bidding, please contact Jamie Harrod at 363-2653. Thanks!

Call to Worship
*Opening Hymn #2: “O Worship the King”
The Opening Prayer (adapted from Touch Holiness, p. 192):
God of love and mercy, we gather in this holy place to sing our praise to you and to be touched by your gentle Spirit. We offer grateful thanks for the gift of Sabbath rest and renewal. We pray that through our worship we may be recreated in your likeness once more. Let your cleansing Spirit enter our lives, that the shadows of our souls may be pierced by the brilliance of your Light and Love. We pray in the name of our Redeemer, who taught us to pray. . .

The Offertory Anthem: “Prayer of St. Francis” Allen Pote
Lord, make me an instrument of thy peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love.
Where there is injury, thy pardon, Lord. Where there is doubt, let there be faith. For it is in giving that we receive; and it is in pardoning that we are pardoned. And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
