Pledge Cards:  Time remains for seriously needed pledges of financial support.  There are pledge cards and envelopes in the narthex. s/The Stewardship Committee

Welcome Table at Coffee Hour:  We've expanded our horizons for our Welcome table and have added a box labeled "Your Hopes and Dreams for our Church" and invite you to use this resource to express those thoughts.  We hope the table will be a source of information for not just visitors but for each of us as well.  We would love to hear your thoughts and ideas for making this presence at Coffee Hour a helpful resource for all.

Drive Through Nativity Video: A beautiful 20-minute video of the Drive Through Nativity will be shown at coffee hour this morning. If you would like to purchase a copy you may sign up today to order one or call the church office.  A shorter version is on our church website. The longer version has pictures of the Journey as well as preparations and rehearsal and includes some very nice personal shots. Per Jonas spent countless hours on this project and the result is just amazing. Thank you, Per. The cost is whatever you would like to make as a donation.

Service Auction:  Anyone who would like to help on the Youth Mission Trip Auction Committee can meet with Dick Lalley after church this morning or call him at 363-4711.

The Annual Meeting of the First Parish Church and First Parish will be held on Wednesday, February 10 at 6:30 p m.  All members of the congregation are invited to attend to receive reports from the Pastor, Deacons, Assessors, as well as from other important committees. Also to vote on new committee appointments, the budgets and other essential business.

Women's Fellowship will have a meeting on Thursday, February 11 at 1:00 p.m. in the Ladies Parlor to begin making plans for the 2010 Colonial Market (Marketfest). Please plan to attend and bring your creative ideas!

Another Bible Study Opportunity:  Beginning Sat., Feb. 13, all women are invited to begin an eleven week in-depth Bible Study with nationally known Bible Teacher, Beth Moore. These video Bible studies will be on the life of Christ and will be taken from the Book of Luke.   The sessions entitled "Jesus, The One And Only"  were filmed in the Holy Land and will aid in our learning about the life and ministry of Jesus.  Each session will be held on Sat. mornings in the Fellowship Hall, from 9:30 - 11:00.  They will be facilitated by Susan Brindle.  Workbooks will be available for $15, should you desire to purchase one. The ladies who did the "Esther Study" learned so much, and we know this will also be a dynamic study.  We want you to be a part!  The coffee pot will be on just for you!   Be sure to bring your Bible!

Renewal of Vows:  What a better day to renew your wedding vows than on Valentine’s Day!   On Sunday, Feb. 14 at 11:30 you and your spouse are invited to join Linda in the sanctuary to renew your wedding vows.  The service is brief and very special.  If you’re interested in being part of this event, just RSVP to the church office at 363-3758!

Skiing:  If anyone would like to go mid-week skiing, please contact Fran Lalley, 363-4711.

Lenten Book Study:  A group will be meeting during Lent to read and discuss 3:16 by Max Lucado.  This Scripture from John is a meaningful passage leading up to Easter.  “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”  The group will meet in the New Parish Hall at 7:00 P.M. on Wednesdays, March 10, 17, and 24.  If you would like to join us, please call the Church Office to order a copy of the book or sign up on the sheet in the Narthex.

“Walk Through The Bible”:  The world’s most popular Bible seminar is coming to First Parish Church.  On March 12 and 13, the First Parish Church  will offer the Walk Through the Old Testament, the entertaining interactive learning presentation that helps people absorb – and remember – the key characters, geography and major themes of the entire Old Testament. Floors are turned into maps, the characters come alive and the stories are presented in just six hours – from 7:00 -9:00 p.m. on Friday and 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. on Saturday – enabling you to master a survey of the Old Testament, even if you have very little prior Bible knowledge. Everyone is welcome. The cost is $20 per person, which includes the accompanying book that is yours to keep. To register or for more information, please contact the church office at 363-3758.

The Opening Prayer:

Gracious God, like a loving parent you call us to you.  You baptize us with your Spirit and encourage and challenge us to grow in grace.  Forgive our failures and show us once again our possibilities as your children.  Prepare us to be servants of your will and agents of your love and justice in all the world.  We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, who taught us to pray. . .
