Text: Luke 9:18-36

There’s a story told about a Congregationalist who died and went to heaven. St. Peter met him and graciously offered to give him a tour. They did. If not for that, there wouldn’t be a me. This morning’s text recounts the genealogy of Jesus. Behind every name is a story that made it possible for Jesus, in the fullness of God’s time, to be born into the world with the greatest story ever told, a story so incredible that in every generation still has the power to change the world.
